Side Affects

One of my favourite things to do after dinner of an evening is to sit in my recliner with my feet up and with my stitching on my lap.  My kitty cats like to share my lap which is fine as they haven't seen me all day and I get to catch up on cuddles. But

there is a side affect - Can you see it?

Yep kitty cat hair - LOL  Luckily I have a great sticky lint brush just perfect for the job of removing it.

Do your pets want your lap when you are stitching?

Sometimes I wish my 2 cats were more lap cats but its only when they want to. Last Friday night I settled in to sew the binding on my nice red Tis The Season stitch a long quilt. My 5 year old boy Honey, who isn't nicknamed donkey for nothing, decided it was cuddle night. He's so big I have to prop him up too & he's creamy so my quilt was quite speckled after a couple of hours of his love. Wouldn't swap it for anything though. Love my big furry cuddles. Tracee xx

Have the same problem

Oh yes, I know that problem. If it's not one or both of my cats it's our mini Foxy.
Those stitches of yours are just so perfect Miss Fee.

Such a terrible problem we have to deal with! Mine are lap cats when they want to be but they certainly leave a lot of "love" behind.

My Jasper is not much of a lap cat - but he does like my sewing room chair...no matter what may be on it, or how many pins! Yesterday, whilst I was sitting unpicking a small error, he coaxed me out of my chair with plaintive meows that I thought indicated his bowl was empty - but no sooner did stand up than he jumped into my pre-warmed chair with what I swear was a satisfied smirk!

Our cat isnt much of a lap sitter - only for a few minutes at a time - but its when I am sewing - then again its not often I sit in that chair and I am not sewing (or asleep - oops Nanny Naps). But years agao it was 2 cats on my lap whilst doing cross stitch - and believe me that is much harder to remove because somehow the hairs get sewn in!- a few times if you dont spot them first.
I am also in awe of your stitching so neat and even and small - your nails are cute - hard to tell the difference between the nails and what you are sewing!
Is that hanky linen you are using that Leanne Beasley also uses??

I sure know that feeling. My cat sleeps in my sewing room (garage) at night time, and when I came home after being away the past 2 weeks, there is hair everywhere. Major cleaning needed in my room.
Your stitching looks lovely.

Not while I am stitching, but once the stitching is finished Miss Sophie loves to lay on it. I'm pretty careful now to hide finished stitcheries from her...;-)

hahahaha.....oh yes. Maui knows exactly when I'm ready to sit for the night....before I can pick up the handwork, she's settled and purring.

Oh yes, two long white haired persians who always want to sit on my ample lap, and help with stitching!
Unfortunately they leave their beautiful fur everywhere, so all my work has speciality stitches :)
Your stitching is so neat, is it chain stitch - mine never looks as nice as yours! :)

The bunnies aren't in my lap, but their fur floats around like giant tumble weeds! Indeed it is good to have stock in lint rollers. :)
