Sometimes......

If you have been following my blog for awhile you would know that I work in the horse racing industry.  Our "Hobart Cup" was held yesterday, hence my absence from my blog for a little while - so now that it's over we can all get back to regular programming.   So "Hello" and sorry for being a bit lax answering e-mails - I am slowly getting through them.

You will remember me chatting about my grandma in a recent post and how much influence she had in my life in the early years.  She was a country woman and was big on loyalty......,  On treating people how you wish to be treated, On respect and of just plain good old fashioned values - They are the things that matter to me and I hope that I have also instilled those values into my children.

But sometimes someone comes into your life who no matter how hard you look you can see no good?  I don't mean that in a malice way at all because I always try to find the good in not only everyone but in every situation - I am a half glass full girl, but sometimes you just have to admit defeat and decide that no matter how hard you try this person has no place in your life.

No matter how welcoming you are or how many times you make excuses for their behaviour - There is no excuse.......

So all you can do is remove them from your life.....  Life is too short to be miserbale or let someone make you feel that way

So onwards and upwards from here.  Hubs and I have discussed "my" situation at length and we have decided what will be will be - What matters to us is our family and each other and nothing else matters.....  Nothing

So tomorrow will be the first day of the rest of our lives - and the first day of me taking back control of one of the big pieces of my life......  I may well have confused many of you here but I have made a HUGE life decision - A decision that will probably change the path of all of our lives but as they say as one door closes another opens.........

I'll be back really soon with a new piece of furniture I recently thrifted and am busting to make over.

Hugs - Fee X

Awww heck Fee, I hope I haven't been a pain in your life lately - I haven't even met you yet and that would be just plain awful - not many sleeps to go and I'll give you a huge hug xx

The most important role you have in life is to look after yourself. Not in a selfish way, but looking after you is how you can best look after your family, your loved ones, and be an amazing member of your community. Sounds like Mr Fee is looking out for you :) Hugs, Kathy

You are absolutely right but it is good to see that you didn't act rashly. People who bully or hurt you should have that right removed. I am also tossing around certain changes in friendship priorities. Not dumping them, just letting that person slide in my affe ction stakes so that I don't get hurt and bitter all the time. Plenty others believe in me and why should I let just one person cause such hurt to my already fragile status. Good on you. Hope it works out for the best. Cherrie

You are so right! I think as we get older we realise you can't please everyone. We now do things that make us happy and if we don't want to do something, we don't! I have spent too much of my life doing things so others don't get upset, without any thought to whether I am happy. Not anymore this is now our time to do as we please, and, if people don't like it, that's their problem not mine.

Enjoy your life with your family they are the most important people anyway. Hugs xxx

Fee,you are making the right decision. You and your family are the important people and you must always consider them before anyone else. It sounds like you have stewed and talked and thought long and hard about this decision so it will be the right one. I send you lots of strength to help you do what you are going to do and much love through friendship to you an your family.

Hi Fee. You seem to have taken a lot of time over this, and whatever it is, it is the best for you and your precious family, because that is the most important thing for you.
Chin up, big breath and take care.
Big hugs, Marilyn xx

Fee life is way to short to waste it on anyone that brings you down. Open those doors and only protect yourself and those that you hold dear.

Hope you had a win on the Cup today!.

Looks like you have had a tough time lately Fee. However, that has not showed in your lovely positive stitching designs, so you are obviously doing all the right things. Its good that you have such a supportive hub. It means a lot. Blessings B.

Fee, very brave of you to take a stand and live by your decision. I know because I recently felt the same way and had to cut someone from my life. Unfortunately for me it meant cutting out a few other people who I really care for but I try to keep in touch with those others through different means.

I am so sad by your post, sad that you had to endure someone and now they will leave your life. I am also sad because it reminds me of a few people in my own life...and you are right...take each day....

I feel like cleaning house too, and I like what you said, "it's time to admit defeat." I'm right there with you. For thirty-three years I've tried to be a friend to someone but it's time to admit defeat. They've wasted too much of my precious time and energy and quite frankly they've sucked the life out of me. This friday that chapter of my life will be closed, praise God! And in a few weeks my husband and I will be flying someplace warm and celebrating our new freedom.
Best wishes on your decision to "admit defeat" and moving on.

we have a kiwi made TV programme here in NZ called Attitude, it is about people with disabilities, and made by people with disabilities. It is a fabulous show and I have been watching it for many years now. Anyway, some years ago, there was an episode on a woman who had a riding accident and was quite severely physically disabled, wheelchair dependent and limited movement in her upper limbs. However, her attitude was amazing, and she definitely was a glass full gal! Her mantra was to surround herself with positive people as negative people just suck the energy out of you (and in her instance she needed all her positiveness just to live each day). She is in my memory as a remarkable woman, and I think her mantra is a good one to follow... and yes there are many doors that open, we just need to be open to seeing them.
Enjoy your day Fee!
p.s. wish I could be coming to Tasmania in March which I am sure will be a totally fabulous weekend, but I have sommat else that was organised prior to your day.. next time mayhaps.

I am sorry to hear you have been through the so called 'wringer' lately Fee. Sometimes as we grow and move forward others don't want to grow with us and so try to pull us back down to where they are. But we can't stunt our growth or limit our horizons and so just have to let them go for our own peace of mind.It says more about them than you and after all you have been through last year you know that your Family and yourself are most important.
Keep on soaring high Fee you deserve it honey.
Blesssings and hugs to you,
Michelle xx

We can allow people to be as they are. We can wish them all the best. Then we simply close the door to them and walk away with a big fat smile on our faces knowing we are free. Enjoy your new journey Fee. Let your light shine bright!

i agree with your sentiments. It is a hard choice to make but you can't carry the load forever. Once the weight is lifted it will be a relief. Hope things will settle quickly once the decision is made.
